Painting
It is possible to apply paints of any color, finish, and gloss over the galvanization.
The result of this operation, which certainly incurs a higher cost than just galvanization, is to achieve an even greater level of protection and, consequently, a longer lifespan. The combination of both anticorrosive treatments creates a synergistic effect, further enhancing the durability of the protection. Obviously, this also benefits the economic balance, as the service life of the product is extended without the need for maintenance.
In addition to its eco-friendly impact, the result is a higher-quality aesthetic finish, suitable for urban and metropolitan contexts.
PAINTING CYCLE
- Phosphoric acid flow-coating pickling for 5 minutes at 45°C to create good adhesion for the paint.
- Flow-coating rinse with tap water at room temperature for 3 minutes.
- Flow-coating passivation with chromium-free zirconium at 40°C for 4 minutes, to fix the surface of the zinc and prevent oxidation and blistering over time.
- Flow-coating rinse with tap water at room temperature for 3 minutes.
- Final flow-coating rinse with demineralized water at room temperature for 5 minutes.
- Drying in an oven at 130°C / 150°C.
- Application of TGCI-free polyester powder in a booth with 10 automatic guns and finishing by the operator with 2 manual guns, achieving a thickness of 80 microns.
- Polymerization in a ventilated oven at a constant temperature of 180°C for a minimum of 50 minutes until the paint film is fully cross-linked, following the technical data sheet instructions of the coating product.
